Client Profile

The majority of my clients are senior managers or management teams at high tech companies in the San Francisco Bay Area. The companies range in size from early stage start-ups to large public companies. In my most successful projects the leaders I work with fit the following profile:

Strong drive to be successful — they enjoy challenges and are not easily discouraged.

Want to build something of value — they want to create something that is larger than themselves and provides real value.

Take ownership and responsibility — clients want my help but know they have to take ownership of the outcome and welcome that responsibility.

Value direct feedback — in the drive to succeed, they know they need straight talk about what is and isn’t working. Direct feedback is seen as valuable and helpful information, not as a personal attack.

Personal integrity — honest and trusted by those they work with, they don’t compromise their values in their drive to succeed.

Know they can’t succeed alone — they understand that success requires the input and commitment of their team and that creating an atmosphere where everyone can contribute their best work is part of the leader’s job.

Education

In recent years I have branched out into the education field, working with charter schools, independent schools, and education oriented nonprofits.  I coach school heads on leadership and management issues, design and facilitate staff offsites, and provide professional development workshops that help administrative staff and teachers increase their ability to work in teams and collaborate with each other in service to their students.
